I received an actual letter (not an email) in my mailbox the other day from the respected publisher, Carrie Kaufman and editor-in-chief of Chicago’s exclusive Actor’s newspaper, Performink.
The message was clear, honest and sincere. That is why Carrie and Performink is the pre-eminent acting newspaper in the Mid-West, if not in the United States.
The message was clear cut.
Carrie went on to say, “Every year recently, I have seen three accelerating trends for Performink:”
1) Web Traffic is up (http://www.performink.com/)
2) Print Subscriptions are down
3) Advertising for Print is down
I applaud Carrie for her honesty with her huge readership and loyal advertising base. This is why she is so respected among the Chicago Acting and Theatre community.
Performink will cease it’s print publishing on June 19th she goes on to say.
The new and expanded Performink’s web site will phase in in mid-July. Breaking news will be covered every day, Auditions will be added through-out the day – in the moment, new interactive advice columns added frequently and the web publication will be updated weekly as opposed to the previous print schedule of every other week.
I applaud the publisher Carrie Kaufman for her ambitious and progressive ideas. I encourage you as an actorpreneur to see great well written articles, current auditions for Film, Theatre and TV and overall great content.
You can see the online version here, or email the paper with any news you have.
And advertisers, use the resource to get your message out to Chicago and Mid-West actors you want to reach.
